Surrey County Council is undertaking a public consultation on the draft version of the new Surrey Waste Local Plan (SWLP) between 1 November 2017 and 7 February 2018.

This consultation reflects the responses and preferred options from the Issues and Options consultation for the new SWLP which was held between 2 September and 25 November 2016.

The draft plan provides the Vision, Strategic Objectives, Draft Policies and Proposed Sites which are intended to guide the future of waste management facilities in Surrey up until 2033. For more information, please visit the Minerals and Waste Planning Policy webpage for the consultation: www.surreycc.gov.uk/newwasteplan or email [email protected]

The council are encouraging consultation returns to be made online where at all possible for ease of processing.

Hard copies of documents will be available at district and borough offices and by calling 03456 009 009 or texting 07860 053 456.

Following this consultation Surrey County Council will be publishing and consulting on a pre-submission draft local plan which will then be submitted to the Government for independent examination.

The timetable for adopting the new SWLP is in the Surrey Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (MWDS). A draft version of the MWDS is available on the councils website and will be adopted following the outcome of the Draft Plan Consultation.

A planning application (RU.17/1815) has just been submitted for redevelopment of parts of the site.

This site is already a Major Developed site in the Green Belt so it can be re-developed up to a point.

The application is different in some aspects from the proposals in the original consultation in April, so if you are concerned about any aspect of it or the impact of it on the surrounding area (especially taking into account the additional development proposed at Parklands see below) you should look at the proposals which include nearly 500 dwellings (for staff and private sale on the open market) a new staff restaurant, 1500 sq metres of retail space and multi storey car-parking and you should write to: Runnymede BC, Civic Centre, Station Road, Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 2AH or e-mail them at [email protected], quoting the application number above.

Great Meeting Tonight!!

Really appreciate all who atended the Chertsey (South) Residents Assiciation meeting at Chertsey Fire Station Community Room this evening.

Special "Thanks" to County Councillor Mark Nulty (also Borough Councillor) and Scott Lewis RBC Brorough Councillor who gave support to the meeting and aswered questions (challenges) from the audience.

Some 50 Residence packed the room to hear the development plans and at times - very heated - discussions on the processes. Runnymede Borough Council Officers were not always as helpful and inclusive to general enquiries (as always there were some excepions!)

IF NOT YOU - WHO? IF NOT NOW WHEN?

Attendees were particularly concerned that other Borough Councillors failed to attend or even respond to local peoples concerns:

Councillor John Furey - County & Borough Councillor

Councillor Paul Tuley

Councillor Derek Cotty

Councillor Barry Pitt

Please see Power Point Presentation in Photo gallery :)

Do not hesitate to contact me or any other committee member.

Paul
